Definition
A skin infection that is caused by various species of fungi belonging to the genera Microsporum and Trichophyton. It is characterized by a red-ringed patch of blisters, itching, pain and scaling, and may appear on the scalp, the body, the chin of bearded people, the nails or the feet.
