Definition
Programs that help nonprofit organizations, small businesses and other groups develop parameters for case studies that can be used to evaluate their programs and services, products and/or overall organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Case studies are intensive, detailed descriptions and analyses of a single project, program, or product in the context of its environment. They involve document review, formal and informal conversations with informants and observation of ongoing activities; and require a significant investment of time and resources. The program may help the organization develop and manage their own case study, help them identify and develop a contract with another organization to do their case study, or may, themselves, contract with the organization to develop and conduct the evaluation.
