Polyarteritis

A disease of the medium and small arteries, particularly at the point of bifurcation and branching, that is characterized by segmental inflammation, infiltration with a filamentous protein and necrosis of the vessel lining which leads to a diminished flow of blood to the areas normally supplied by the arteries.
