Charcot-Marie Tooth Disease

A form of progressive neural muscular atrophy, a disease with hereditary tendencies that is characterized by progressive weakness of the distal muscles of the arms and feet. The muscles atrophy, reflexes are lost, foot drop develops, and there is a loss of cutaneous sensations. The disease usually occurs in childhood but may occur in adults, and is more common in males.
