Definition
Offices, usually within federal, state or local government, that issue temporary or permanent accreditation status to journalists who wish to attend news conferences held by those offices. Media credentials are also issued for sporting activities, special events and conferences. To qualify in most instances, applicants must be able to establish that they are "working journalists" in print, broadcast or Internet media.
