Security Deposit Payment Assistance

Programs that provide cash grants or loans for people who are in the process of acquiring rental housing and need help paying the monetary deposit (generally equal to one month's rent) required by the landlord as proof of intent to move in and care for the apartment. The deposit is generally refunded when the tenant moves out, provides a measure of security for the landlord and can be used to pay for damages or lost property. If the amount of the damages exceeds the deposit amount, the tenant will owe the difference at the end of their lease.
