Inmate Trust Accounts

Programs within the criminal correctional system that establish accounts for individual inmates into which funds from family, friends and job assignments within the prisons can be deposited. The funds are disbursed upon written authorization from an inmate for personal expenses such as postage, medical expenses and replacement of damaged property. The funds may also be used for shopping in the canteen, purchasing items from approved vendors and magazine subscriptions.
