Work Activity Center - West Valley
A community center providing support and social opportunities for adults with disabilities. The center provides day treatment, social and recreational programs, job training, independent living skills instruction, supported living services, and adult out of home respite care for adults with developmental disabilities. Volunteers are also needed to assist with these services.
Description:

Provides adults with disabilities access to a wide range of activities that offer the possibility of learning, improved physical fitness, and fun, all in a safe and supervised environment. Activities include Special Olympics, sport leagues, community events, dances, and more.

Eligibility:
Individuals 18 and older with a documented disability.

Training programs expand existing skills while challenging individuals to develop new skills and experiences. Skills include managing time and activities such as cooking, laundry, housekeeping. Practices include personal safety at home, community, and workplace.

Provides career counseling, goal setting, and job search support to individuals seeking to get off of social security benefits.

Eligibility:
Individuals 18-64 who are currently receiving SSI and/or SSDI benefits and are looking to return to work.
