Provides food and shelter in emergencies and disasters, assists members of the armed forces and their families, teaches life and safety skills, and more. Installs smoke alarms for qualifying residents with local groups and fire departments through the Sound The Alarm campaign. Services provided include disaster related shelter, disaster donations coordination, post disaster food services, emergency preparedness and response training, post disaster emergency medical care, first aid instruction, water safety education, armed forces emergency services, emergency communications, post disaster mental health services, smoke alarms, and disaster preparedness information.
