Description:

Helps low income individuals and families participate in energy conservation programs (such as sealing old windows) which lessen the impact of utility costs on their household budgets. Can help with furnace repair/replacement.

Eligibility:
Individuals, families, elderly persons (60 years of age or older) and the disabled who are making no more than 200 percent of the current poverty income level.

Description:

The HEAT Program provides year round energy assistance and energy related crisis assistance for eligible low income households throughout Utah. The program runs each year between November from April. For a limited time, those who qualify for rent and utility payment assistance, may also qualify for water and/or cooling payment assistance.

Eligibility:
Total household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty level. Must be the person responsible for paying the utilities.
Household is responsible for paying home energy costs and must contain at least one US citizen or legal permanent resident.

Description:

Housing Choice Voucher Program, formerly known as Section 8, provides monthly rental assistance as a long term assistance to eligible households. The Housing Authority does not own any housing. Program participants must locate housing that the Housing Authority approves. For a limited time, those who qualify for rent and utility payment assistance, may also qualify for water payment assistance.

Eligibility:
Household must not earn more than 50% of the area medium income as published by HUD.
Program participants pay at least 30% of their gross adjusted income but not more than 40% of their gross adjusted income.
The unit must pass a housing inspection.
