The First Connection Program matches patients with peer volunteers based on diagnosis, age, gender, and other factors that may create a mutual understanding and ease of communication. Peer volunteers are trained in basic counseling skills, are regularly updated about LLS and community resources, and are committed to confidentiality.

Offers various financial assistance programs overcome financial barriers to blood cancer patients for expenses incidental to medical care including insurance premium assistance, prescriptions, various tests, transportation expense assistance, acute dental work to treatment.
Urgent care need non medical, such as rent, mortgage, lodging, car repair and insurance, utility bills, transportation, phone services, child/eldercare, food.
Eligible patients receive a $500 grant, also provides Medical debt program.
