The primary duty of Children's Protective Services is ensuring child safety and working to strengthen parents and caregivers who are otherwise unable to meet their child’s needs. The work is focused on effective interventions regarding safety issues related to child abuse and neglect.
Description:

Provides child protective services and interventions for children in Utah. Services may include voluntary protective services counseling, court-ordered protective services supervision, evidence-based home visitation programs, a protective family preservation program for children who are at immediate risk of out-of-home placement, parenting classes, developing child safety plans, teaching conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, and other specialized information and referral.
