Provides HEAT assistance program and various other assistance programs for low-income families in the six county region including: government associations, home rehabilitation loans, low cost home rental listings, rent payment and rent deposit assistance, USDA rural home purchase loan programs, utility service payment assistance, and weatherization programs.
Description:

HEAT provides winter utility assistance to low-income households that are most vulnerable. Assistance is available as funding allows.

Eligibility:
Total household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty level; household is responsible for paying home energy costs; household contains at least one US citizen or legal permanent resident.

Description:

Provides one month rental assistance to individuals and families who are eligible. Program is only available as funding is available.

Eligibility:
Individuals or families who meet the income guidelines set by the individual programs may qualify. Must have an eviction notice and be able to demonstrate ability to pay future payments. Client may be required to pay a portion of amount owed.

Provides low-income individuals and families energy conservation programs which will lessen the impact of the high cost of energy on household budgets and improve household health and safety.

Eligibility:
Individuals must own their home and be on or under 200% of the federal poverty level. Priority is given to the elderly, disabled and households with children under the age of six.

Description:

Offers individuals low-interest loans for the rehabilitation or reconstruction of their existing home. Also helps homeowners make home improvements, address accessibility issues, replace older housing stock, reduce overcrowding, update plumbing or electric and address any other type of housing concern.

Description:

Qualified applicants work with a contractor to build a home and the USDA provides a mortgage based on income.

Eligibility:
Applicants who do not currently own a home, who meet USDA/Rural development loan qualifications regarding good credit allowable debts, and whose income does not exceed 80% of their county's median income.
