Provides programs that support families and improve the educational outcomes of students living in Salt Lake City’s westside neighborhoods. Programs include adolescent English as a second language instruction, comprehensive immigration/naturalization services, and English language instruction volunteer opportunities. Also, provides scholarships to immigrant students and a seasonal VITA Tax Clinic.
Description:

Volunteers assist students in grades 7 - 12 learn to communicate in the English language one-on-one and small groups.

Eligibility:
1 - Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English 2 - Respectful and willing to learn about different cultures 3 - Friendly, dependable, prompt, patient, flexible, and able to maintain confidentiality. 4 - Feel competent or/and familiar with Google Suites (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.) 5 - Must be 18 years of age and older.

Offers both a year-round and intensive summer English program supplementing public education for youth in grades 7 - 11. The summer program runs three hours daily for six weeks. The year-round English program runs from September - May.

Description:

The Perseverar Scholarship Program is a service-driven scholarship program for highly motivated immigrant students currently living in the Salt Lake area. Recipients of the scholarship will be required to volunteer with the No More a Stranger Foundation for 10 hours per week.

Eligibility:
Must be an immigrant student who is accepted or currently attending a public college or university, in good standing, and making satisfactory academic progress.
