Opioid Antidote Distribution Programs

Provides Naloxone kits to anyone in need. Each kit includes two doses of Naloxone and an instruction pamphlet.

Public Internet Access Sites
Description:

Provides computer access, public internet, and Wi-fi access in the parking lot.

Eligibility:
Anyone with a City Library Card may use the computers. If no City Library Card and not residing in Salt Lake County, a Guest Pass at any City Library Reference Desk can be obtained.

Public Libraries
Description:

Provides comprehensive library services including books, periodicals, online information databases, meeting rooms, and education programs. A library card is required for most services.

Computer Literacy Training Programs
Description:

Provides computer software and internet navigation classes for all ages.

Tutoring Services
Description:

Provides in-person tutoring for K-12 students in math, science, reading/writing, social studies, PSAT/SAT, ACT, AP, and state standardized tests. Students can get real-time help, submit essays and other forms of writing to a 24-hour Writing Lab for constructive feedback, and submit homework questions for expert guidance.

Homeless Drop In Centers
Description:

The library social worker provides case management services to people experiencing homelessness and distributes food, clothing, and hygiene products. Case management includes coordinating homeless services with community partners, enrolling homeless people in benefits and housing programs, coordinating medical care and employment assistance services, and providing transportation to hospitals, Volunteers of America's Detoxification Center, and domestic violence shelters in Salt Lake County.

Eligibility:
Open to any homeless person in Salt Lake County.

M, W, F 10 am - 1 pm or by Appointment
Intake Procedure:
Walk in during normal hours or call to schedule an appointment. The homeless outreach team has a desk on the library's first floor.
