South Salt Lake Police Department

The municipal police department provides law enforcement and crime victim services to the City of South Salt Lake. The police department consists of four divisions, patrol, investigations, community resources, and homeless resources. Also, it takes zoning violation complaints and provides graffiti reporting and removal services.
Description:

The municipal police department provides law enforcement services to the City of South Salt Lake while respecting individual rights, human dignity, and community values. The department partners with the community to reduce and prevent crime in the city's neighborhoods. The Office of the Chief of Police administers and manages the police department, supervises all department personnel, establishes department policies, prepares the police department budget, approves department expenditures, and implements city directives ordered by the mayor.

Description:

The Victim Advocates team provides guidance, resources, and referrals to fit the unique needs of crime victims. The Advocates assist victims after the following types of crimes: assault, domestic violence, child abuse, DUI - fatal, homicide, sexual assault, stalking/harassment, suicide and traumatic loss, and other violence crimes.
