Eligibility:
Individuals currently without safe, sanitary housing who are unable to obtain a loan from other sources. Applicants must use the residence as the primary home, and must also meet income requirements. Home must be located in USDA rural home area.

Description:

Provides loans to very low income homeowners that may be used to repair, improve, or modernize their homes or remove health and safety hazards. Also provides grants to elderly very low income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards. Loans and grants may be combined.

Eligibility:
Homeowners who own and occupy the home, are unable to obtain affordable credit elsewhere, and have an income deemed to be 'very low' by the USDA standards. For grants, be age 62 or older. Home must be located in USDA rural home area.
