Advocacy

The program supports individual and community advocacy strategies that create positive change for persons with disabilities and their environment at a local and state level. It also provides direct advocacy for individuals at the community level. This ensures that persons with disabilities are successfully integrated into their communities. Also, teaches persons with disabilities self-advocacy skills. They learn to communicate and negotiate with agencies, service providers, employers, and others to obtain needed benefits, services, or accommodations.
