Eligibility
Must have experienced a documented financial hardship associated with COVID-19 after January 21, 2020. Must own and occupy the Utah property, as their primary residence for which they are applying for assistance. Households that have incomes equal to or less than 150% of the County area median income (AMI) in which the household resides, or 100% of AMI for the United States, whichever is greater. First application period focuses on households that have incomes equal to or less than 100% of the county area median income (AMI) in which the household resides, or 100% AMI for th US (whichever is greater). Households with income exceeding this will be denied on the current application period unless they are facing immediate foreclosure. Households may NOT currently be participating in the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
Fees
No cost. Maximum assistance at the start of the program will be $35,000 per residence. Program will expend funds as necessary to bring a homeowner's primary residence fully current.

Application/Referral Process
Take the 'Pre-screening questionnaire' online to start eligibility inquiry. Complete the online application, fill out and sign the Third Party Authorization (TPA) and Disclosure Form, provide a qualifying hardship attestation and supporting documentation from homeowner that certifies and identifies the financial hardship associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, that it occurred after January 21, 2020. Must provide contact information, including phone number and email, as well as account (mortgage, property tax, homeowners insurance) if that information is not clear on the provided documents. 20-30 day estimated funding for eligible applicants; may contact CDCU for status inquiries.
Description

A federally funded housing assistance program for homeowners in Utah who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic after January 21, 2020. Program can provide aid for housing-related costs such as mortgage and property charges, taxes, insurance premiums, condominium fees, planned unit development fees, and HOA fees. Funds may be used to bring accounts current, with no remaining delinquent amounts, and to repay amounts advanced by the lender or servicer on the borrower's behalf for property charges. Eligible applicants are not required to repay this assistance.
